Week 13, Injuries as far as the eye can see

Welcome to week 13 one and all. In week 12 we saw a large number of moves occur as managers fought to stay ahead of challengers and stem the rising tide of injuries.

Last weeks premier match up was between Puckin Great Ya'll and How You Laich Me Now. Despite Mac making several key moves through out the week to bolster his roster, it all came down to Saturday. How You Laich Me Now won on Saturday and Cody put an exclamation point on the match Sunday racking up an additional 17 points to beat Puckin' Great Ya'll by 22. This win puts How You Laich Me Now just one game out from the Dunlop Conference lead and extends HYLMN's win streak to 4.

No discussion of the Dunlop Conference would be complete though with talking about The Might V. In Week 12, The Mighty V faced off against Capital Punishment. The match up started off close with TMV and CP trading wins on a nightly basis. Capital Punishment built up momentum through Thursday, but The Mighty V brought out the big guns on Saturday to dominate the night 81 to 45. Saturday left Capital Punishment reeling and The Mighty V won 276 to 215, placing TMV in a tie for second of the Dunlop Conference with How You Laich Me Now.

The Richmond Prexies continue to be loss at sea with their GM in a coma. In a surprise to no one, week 12 saw The Fighting Hasselhoffs dominate the Richmond Prexies. This win keeps TFH just two games out of first place in the Conway Conference.

Filed under almost caught napping, the Kung Fu Lemurs were seen making a flurry of trades this week in an attempt to fend of a challenge by Laich a G6. After the KFL dominated the first game of the week, Liach a G6 roared back on Tuesday and Thursday with huge wins to keep the match within 12. Once the weekend started, the KFL's transactions kicked in allowing the Lemur's to win the match up and retain a two game lead over the Hoff's for leadership of the Conway Conference.

Never Go Full Kopitard, fresh off of their upset of the KFL, rolled over Team Moran in week 12. NGFK only dripped one game last week on the way to a 63 point win over Team Moran. While NGFK may be four games out of first in the Dunlop Conference, they are working hard to make sure they are not counted out.

Don't forget, this is a shortened week as the league shuts down from the 24th to the 26th.

The big news for Week 12 though was the new addition to the IHHL family. Derek’s wife gave birth to their lovely daughter, Zelda Lillian Heilmann, at about 2 am this morning. Amy and Zelda are doing well and we were able to secure an exclusive photo (so long as you look no where else) of Ms. Zelda.

Week 12 - Midweek update

In this League, we have our fun. We rib each other and exchange heated words over the course of weeks of play, but at the core of it all, we are all drawn here out of a sense of love and fun for the sport. It is this commonly shared passion that helps us all to connect and form relationships.

I’d like to take a moment here, step outside of my role as acting commissioner, and congratulate Derek on the launch of the IHHL web site: http://www.ihhl.net. I know that he labored long and hard on this and I think I speak for all of us when I say, we really appreciate the care and love he put into this project.

Oh and evidently Derek’s wife gave birth to their lovely daughter, Zelda Lillian Heilmann, at about 2 am this morning. Amy and Zelda are doing well and Derek has not been killed yet.

In other news, while looking through the Commsioner's desk, I found this: http://www.ihhl.net, which is something I totally did myself, and is in no way the result of Derek's work.

Week 8: Midweek update/Recap

KFL v TMV

The top three teams in league are currently fighting for dominance. The Kung Fu Lemurs and The Mighty V are going head to head this week in a cross conference fight. On Tuesday, the KFL sent Mark Arcobello to the minors and proceed to add Brent Burns (directly to IR) and Zack Smith to the roster to bolster scoring this week.

In reaction to these moves, TMV picked Up the surging Sean Monahan in hopes to spark additional scoring and maintain the lead that they had earned on Tuesday.

It is reported that prior to the game, the ownership of the KFL and TMV exchanged some heated words.

At the end of the night, the KFL rode Fleury for a shut out while Smith provided the offensive punch that was needed, allowing the KFL to make up the deficit and assume the lead by 13 points.

The KFL and TMV are evenly matched through Saturday, so this match up is still up in the air.

RIC v PUCK

The Richmond Prexies are looking for their first win of the season against Puckin' Great Ya'll, and as of Wednesday night, the Prexies are looking good. Less than a point seperate the two teams.

This week is the Prexies week to loose. The teams are evenly matched for players being iced, but the Prexies are resting players for the next few nights, giving PUCK the upper hand through Saturday. PUCK needs to take advantage of this as come Sunday, the Prexies are putting six players on the ice versus PUCK's loan player. PUCK needs to dominate the next few nights and hope that Howard can hold the line on Sunday to escape with a win this week and maintain leadership of the Dunlop Conference.

HOFF v NGFK

The Fighting Hasselhoffs seized a decisive victory last night allowing them to take the lead over Never Go Full Kopitard by 15 points. The Hoffs just need to hold that lead through Saturday to wrap this week up.

The week started off hard fought, but from here on out, the Hoffs have the man advantage every night, which should allow them to conserve a bit and focus on challenging the KFL for leadership of the Conway Conference.

DG v LAIC

How You Laich Me Now is currently being manhandled by Liach a G6. DG has a 40 point lead over LIAC. DG is currently resting players rather than putting all their skaters on the ice the next few nights. With both teams evenly matched, it is DG's match up to loose at this point.

AG v MORA

Capital Punishment is crumbling against the onslaught of Team Moran. TM nearly has a 40 point lead over AG at this point.

With the teams evenly matched for the rest of the week, it is doubtful that AG will be able to rally back to win this week. That decision to rest players earlier in the week rather than play them is coming back to haunt the AG now.

Week Seven Closeout

Dunlop Conference

The Mighty V made their play for dominance in the conference by upsetting the undefeated How You Laich Me Now in week 5. The Mighty V started out strong and gave very little ground over the course of week 5, leaving How You Laich Me Now unable to withstand the assault.

Puckin' Great Ya'll has only stumbled once this season, and that was against How You Laich Me Now in week 4. Week 4 proved to be closest game of the season for PUCK, with it all coming down to Sunday. In the end, PUCK  lost out by 10 points, leaving us with a tie for the lead of the Dunlop conference between Puckin' Great Ya'll and The Mighty V.

Conway Conference

Old rivarlies are heating in the Conway Conference as The Kung Fu Lemurs and The Fighting Hasselhoffs fight for dominance. Two games separate the KFL from the Hoff's at the end of week 7. Rumors of bounties being placed on the KFL players by the Hoff's owner/management are beginning to swirl.

Games Wrap Up

  • Puckin' Great Ya'll (6 and 1) breezed to an easy win over Liach a G6 this week.
  • How you Laich Me Now (5 and 2) crushed Capital Punishment (2 and 5) keeping LAIC nipping at the heels of the conference leaders.
  • Never Go Full Kopitard (4 and 3) steamrolled the Richmond Prexies (0 and 7) to keep things tight among the top teams in the conference.
  • The Kung Fu Lemurs (6 and 1) manhandled Team Moran (1 and 6), outscoring Team Moran by almost 90 points. The KFL's playing was helped out by Team Moran failing to ice a full team most nights, leaving over 30 points on the bench.
  • In a heart breaking match for The Fighting Hasselhoffs (4 and 3), The Mighty V (6 and 1) powered back on Sunday to win by five points. Dropping the Hoffs to two games back while keeping the Might V neck and neck with Puckin' Great Ya'll.

Week 8 Match Ups

Going into week 8, the KFL face off against The Mighty V as both teams look to solidify their grips on their respective conferences.

Laich a G6 looks to make a run back into the standings against How you Laich Me Now by taking of their man advantages this week.

The Richmond Prexies are looking for their first win of the season against Puckin' Great Ya'll this week. The Prexies have the man advantage most nights, even though they are leaving players on the bench.

The Hoff's face off against Never Go Full Kopitard; both teams looking to move up and solidify their place in the standings.

In a match up to close to call, Capital Punishment and Team Moran face off this week. The difference may come down to how many players each team opts to rest rather than play this week.
